Information we handle
When you create an account, your email and credentials are managed through Firebase Authentication. We store flights you add, legs, dates, routes, times and available operational details; alerts and their read status; language, distance and time-format preferences; and pending changes needed to synchronize them.
If you use the community, we also handle your nickname, participation, statistics, following relationships, and reports or blocks you submit. We do not request sensitive personal data, device location or payment information. Firebase manages passwords; FlyMemo does not store readable passwords.
Why we use this information
To create and protect your account, save and synchronize your itinerary and preferences, provide offline access, show flight updates, calculate statistics and achievements, handle requests and prevent abuse.
The community is optional: data is used for rankings and following features only if you participate. You can withdraw from the community in your profile without losing itinerary access. We do not sell your itinerary or use it for personalized advertising.
What is shared in the community
If you participate, other signed-in users can see your nickname and aggregate and annual statistics. Your email, flight list, routes and exact travel dates are not included in the ranking. Your following circle, reports and blocks are private.
You can leave the ranking in your profile and report or block travelers. Associated data is removed when your account is deleted.
Services behind FlyMemo
- Google Firebase: authentication, storage and processing. Its libraries may collect service diagnostics and security logs.
- FlightAware: flight information. Requests may include a flight number, route and date; we do not send your email or password to that provider.
- OpenFreeMap: maps. Requests expose your network address and map area to the provider.
- Planespotters.net: aircraft photographs. Loading a photograph shares your network address with that service.
Storage and processing may take place outside Mexico, depending on these providers’ infrastructure. We do not publish account data to unrelated third parties.
Retention and deletion
We retain account data while you use the service. Delete your account in Settings → Account and privacy → Delete my account. This removes access, flights, alerts, preferences, nickname, ranking participation and following relationships.
A minimal receipt with a random account identifier and deletion status, containing no email or flights, may remain for up to 30 days to prevent delayed updates from restoring deleted data. Provider security logs and backups follow their own retention cycles.
Deletion cannot be undone. Read the procedure and its effects.
Information saved on your devices
The itinerary and preferences are saved on each device for offline use. When the app receives account deletion, it removes account-specific preferences and pending changes. A device that stays offline may retain downloaded information until it reconnects or the app is uninstalled. Reconnecting does not restore deleted cloud data.
Maps and photographs may not be available offline.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can change preferences, leave the ranking and delete your account in the app. To request access, correction, cancellation or objection to processing, withdraw consent or limit the use or disclosure of your data, email contacto@flymemo.app with the subject “FlyMemo · Privacy”.
Include your account email, your request and the data concerned. We will explain how to verify account ownership in a proportionate, secure way and reply through the same channel. Do not send passwords, codes or identity documents in the first email. Requests are handled under applicable legal requirements and time limits.
When you visit this website
This website includes no analytics, advertising or tracking pixels. Fonts and visual resources are served by the website itself. This website does not store a language preference in your browser.
The hosting provider may process your network address and technical request data to deliver and secure the website. If you write to us, we use your email and the information you provide to handle your request.
Changes to this notice
Updates will appear on this page with a revised date. When a change requires an action or additional consent, we will also communicate it in the app before applying it.
